With the rise of the share of market of Google, storing up and the use of the data of Net surfers collected by this engine and its competitors increased considerably. The search engines pile up information of their users in quantity.
For consumers’ associations, lobbies and governmental institutions, the search engines - and in particular Google - are monitored too little on the conservation of these data.
Not only the search engines remain fuzzy on the collected data processing but the mistakes realized in the up keeping of these data can cause a serious injury to the Net surfers. The American portal had accidentally published 20 million partially anonymous requests of research. Will an engine leave with the users the possibility of removing their personal data?
On its blog (http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2007/09/search-privacy-and-personalized-search.html ), Google announce to have posted two videos on Youtube. The first one, explain which data are stock up and what is the goal. On the second one, Google specifies the personal search and the tools that are available to make his search anonymous.
RESEARCH ON INTERNET MADE ANONYMOUS
The Ask.com site knows that he cannot beat Google on the ground of research. Thus, it decided to play the chart of the protection of the private life.
By providing a tool called AskEraser, the Ask site allows the users to question search engines on Internet - including Google- without recording any data.
This functionality will find certainly an echo favorable in the defenders of electronic freedoms, which rebel against the fact that Google preserves the requests of the Net surfers a long time, this time having been recently brought back to 18 months. Thus if you want to search for something on a subject that you are not supposed to look for, request Ask to cover your information.

A European data privacy group, will submit a full report in April on online data privacy and how search engines -- both EU-based and those with "an establishment" in a member state -- must comply with EU provisions.
EU rules that someone must consent to their data being collected and give individuals the right to object or verify their information apply to search engines, the regulators' group said in a short statement as they prepare a full report due by April.
They also apply to companies headquartered outside the EU but have "an establishment" in one of the EU member states, or that use automated equipment based in a member state for processing personal data, the statement said.

A propos de l'auteur
We are two students in the last year of Master in the University of Sciences and Technologies of Lille (France). We decided to create the blog “Management and Global E-Business” as a part of our professional project “Viral Marketing and social networking”.
The objective of it is to interact with students and professionals about international and e-business topics plus the Master Global E-Business.
Luisa Castro, Colombian, Master 2 Management and International Business (Full time training):“You are may be wondering why am I promoting the Global E-Business Master since I’m not studying that? Well, firstly because both masters are part of COMEX (International Business masters of our university). Moreover, I have taken some classes of the Global E-Business Master and I really liked it, above all the project management course, given by an IBM project manager (M. Sirven). Given that during my internship I am going to work with a PMO, I choose to do my project with Corinne (see below). This project allows me to familiarise with different aspects of E-Business and to develop my knowledge on Viral Marketing and Social Networking through interacting with people, as well as practice the project management tools I have learned. As you can see this is a very flexible Master, this particularity gives us the advantage to share our different backgrounds and experiences”
Corinne Klein, French, Master 2 Global E-Business (Apprenticeship):“I decided to apply Master Global E-Business to enlarge my competences in International Management and web marketing inside an apprenticeship program”
Among the huge choice of Master, I chose with one’s because of all courses are in English language and we practice a lot through professional projects and real life case exercises. This training allow me to switch part time between courses and a job as web marketing project manager assistant in Cofidis.”
